Cadets WA

School Cadets

The Surf Life Saving School Cadet program offers students an exciting opportunity to get involved with one of the most iconic and respected Australian organisations.

Learn to become a surf lifesaver and develop skills in first aid, communications, surf awareness, surf skills, resuscitation and leadership development, all within an enjoyable environment.

Surf Life Saving Cadets encourages youth to take an active role in the creation of a safe, sustainable and clean environment, in turn promoting a positive image of healthy young people.

Surf Life Saving gives students the opportunity to develop physically, intellectually and socially within our educational training programs.

As a Surf Life Saving Cadet students are given the opportunity to complete a range of activities and awards. Surf Life Saving WA will provide all the training and equipment needed to receive nationally recognized awards like the Community Surf Rescue Certificate, Senior First Aid, Recreational Skippers Ticket and much more. Surf Life Saving is a Registered Training Organisation and students will now be able to be endorsed for units of competency for the WA Certificate of Education (WACE). Additionally, programs that cover the SLS Bronze Medallion and SRC also are eligible for WACE points.

NCSLSC is the only SLS Club in Western Australia that successfully runs a SLS Cadets Unit in line with the Bronze Medallion Award. The Christchurch Grammar School Cadets program has been successfully run for a number of years with participants earning their Surf Rescue Certificate or Bronze Medallion at the end. To view the CCGS SLS Cadet Schedule please see our Event Calendar.
